First fight of the night is :
Jon Fitch vs Chris Wilson
Round 1
Fitch with an early leg kick. They clinch and apart. Missed kick by fitch and hey clinch again on the fence. Standing again. Leg kick by Wilson...these guys look fairly even so far. Again with a leg kick from Wilson...Jon Fitch with the takedown and Wilson is trying for a submisssion...Fitch gets out. 20 seconds left and....bell rings.
Round 2
Fitch gets top posision, goes to a half butterfly guard. Fitch remains in control and really is starting to take control with good ground control...looks like he has a choke from the top...lets it go. Fitch back to half guard.
Round 3
They dance for the first minutes, missed punches and kics. Finally the tie up, but let go. Good right hand by Fitch. Fitch dominates on top and with one minute left it looks like Fitch is cruising to at least a split decision, but more likely a unanimous decision. Wilson has a great triangle late, but Fitch survived to see the decision.
UFC 82 Winner : Jon Fitch by decision.
And... Brock Lesnar vs Mark Coleman...what a match. Wow, I pick Coleman to beat Lesnar.
Yushin Okami vs. Evan Tanner
Round 1
Boring round, Okami dropped Tanner...I give it to Okami 10-9
Round 2
After a bore-o-thon early, Okami KO's Tanner with a knee to the body, knee to the chin and one more to the forehead...the last one was unnecessary. Okami wins.
UFC 82 Winner : Yushin Okami
Chris Leben vs. Alessio Sakara
In a round full of shots and well taken shots Chris Leben knees Sakara, then a left hook and some finishing gnp and Sakara is done.
Winner : Chris Leben
Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo
Round 1
Good round , I was impressed by Herring. I think that he has a real chance of defeating Kong here, even though Kongo probably won that round.
Round 2
I thought that Herring had a really good round and finished off the last minutes kneeing Kongo 20 times. I give round 2 to Herring.
Round 3
Kongo dominant for the first two minutes, despite decent showing by Herring. Herring on top starting the second half of the 3rd round. Herring absolutely won the 3rd round and if there was a fourth, I think Herriing would have that too.
I give that to Herring, 29-28.
and 2 of the 3 judges agree...
UFC 82 Winner : Heath Herring
Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson
Round 1
After some early striking (especially kicks) by Silva, Henderson takes it to the ground and gnp's a round out of Silva. Hammer fists were extremely effective, but Silva does not look stunned. I give the first round to Hendo.
Round 2
Henderson pushes early, but eats a big punch and backs off. Silva asking Hendo to come forward. Silva takes Hendo down (or fell down). Back to their feet they clinch on the fence with Hendo throwing knees to Silva's legs. Anderson Silva has amazing balance as he avoids the takedowns from the clinch. Knee attempt by Hendo, but Silva catches Hendo with a knee and a kick...Hendo down and Silva on top with a big elbow. Body punches from the top from Silva. Silva has Hendo's back with about a minute to go in the round. Silva has the hooks in and is peppering Hendo to loosen him up. Body triangle, but Silva really wants the rear naked...25 seconds left and he slips the arm under...Hendo taps with 10 seconds left in the round.
UFC 82 Winner : Anderson Silva

Dustin Hazelett vs. Josh Koscheck
Round 1
Koshcheck and Hazelett both rock each other in early exchanges. Koshcheck lands a big punch and now Hazelett has Kos in a guillotine. Kos is pulling down on Hazelett's arm and Dustin had to let go, they return to the standup. Good leg kicks by Hazelett they relax a bit for the last minute and a half of the first round, until a huge takedown by Koscheck and Hazelett attempting a triangle...with 20 seconds left he probably won't get it. Bell rings.
First round is very had to call. Koscheck had the big takedown and some good standup, but Hazelett had two good submission attempts. I give that round to Hazelett.
Round 2
After early success by Hazelett, Josh Koscheck lands a big right, head kick, then finishes Hazelett with punches from above.
UFC 82 Winner : Josh Koscheck
