Canadian Fans, please don't boo at UFC 83

Let me set things straight, I am Canadian. I am proud of my country, but when it comes to fighters, my favourites are determined by their fights, not where they were born.

I just went through all of the promo vids on UFC.com for UFC 83 and virtually every non Canadian fighter had a comment about the possiblity of getting boo'd in Montreal. I just want to say that I hope the Canadian fans who show up have more respect than that. Every fighter who steps into the cage deserves our respect.

Go ahead, cheer for your favourites, cheer for your countrymen, but respect each man who steps into the cage and puts it on the line for our entertainment.

I believe that this show will be attended by all types of fans. From the fans who attend every TKO event, to those who travel to Vegas for the UFC shows to fans who've watched every PPV for the last 5 years, but have never been to an event. Lets show our visitors a touch of Canadian class and just celebrate the fact that we finally get a UFC event in Canada.
