Good Game Plan or Bad Game Plan?

I've been reading all over the internet how Rashad Evan's plan of frustrating Chuck Liddell was a great game plan. Of course any plan which ends up being successful is good, but what if?

We all know by now that Rashad landed a huge overhand right on the sweet spot, turning Chuck's head and putting Liddell down, but what if that big punch never landed? The way I see it Rashad was down a round and a half of a 3 round fight. While the finish was decisive, the fight was not dominant in GSP or Anderson Silva terms, in fact Chuck was controlling the action and was the aggressor the whole fight.

I give Rashad full points for his punching power and executing a good game plan, but time will tell if he can keep using risky plans like this one to win fights. He'll face Forrest Griffin next and Forrest knows a thing or two about good game plans himself. Chuck Liddell needs to re-evaluate his style a bit, while it's always exciting to see Chuck fight I really didn't enjoy seeing him hit the canvas like he did. It seems like the blueprint for defeating Chuck is now out for everyone to see...I really hope Chuck comes back from this and makes another run at the title.

Joanne is back with her UFC 88 prediction video. I think I agree with all of them except the Henderson fight.

Jason Day out of UFC 88

From MMAWeekly:

Canadian fighter Jason Day has had to withdraw from his planned UFC 88 match-up on Sept. 6 with Jason Lambert. A source close to the fight informed MMAWeekly.com that Day suffered an elbow and biceps injury that will require him to have an MRI to determine the extent of the injury that will keep him out of the fight.

No replacement has been announced for the Jason Day vs Jason Lambert fight and with two weeks left it will be very short notice for somebody to step up.
